Ivan, the great

Danny Ivan considers himself a young independent artist. His greatest desire is to make people happy when they look at his work, even through the most banal everyday objects. The joy that he dedicates to his art is reflected in the strong and vivid printing of his graphics designs and there is no escaping this multicolor world full of charm and details. Come and meet him.

Why was essential for you to create a style as a graphic designer?
Danny Ivan: I think when we want to create a style is to try to differentiate our work from others because there are fantastic artists around the world, if we are not informed about their works; we largely feel that we are doing the same. Therefore, it is very important to create our space, the way we express what we have inside.

How the idea of working with many details does come to you?
DI: I think it's very important to get into detail on any work, may have a very simplistic air, but if we are to detail people identify and recognize that there is a concept that there is work there. It's a nice way to create a relationship with the general public. And, I think the details make the difference in life, from our smallest acts, the way we relate, try to apply this idea in the illustration, or photograph itself. I think from my point of view is essential.

How your mental process is arises in creative terms? In your work clearly two strands, extraneous graphics and then the picture that turns into a detailed image.
DI: I often say that I have no process. Simply have a fairly accurate sense of observation, always observe everything , gestures , people , dominant colors , the whole environment of museums , galleries , I read a lot , see many movies and hear great music . And suddenly it makes a click in my head, I cannot explain how and then I start to sketch all the time. What is really hard is waiting seated for the creativity to flow. I think probably my process is always been in a process, perchance; this is the best expression that defines me as an artist.

Another issue that caught my attention was the use of color; it has to do with the islet in you? Or spans that border the island?
DI: I've always found interesting colors and what interested me most is the conversation between them, which was the spot that could create the visual level. I think this field as this process happens in our brain is for scientists. I chose the strong colors, vivid enough, because I like people with this spirit in life, their dynamic, they know how to laugh, cry and be honest with themselves and I try to express it through color. What I like to see in the world is someone happy who has a sincere smile and I think a strong color can express it, is my way of working, to see the world and try to translate that into the picture.

Also you said you did not want to be a gallery artist, but face the audience. Why?
DI: I received lots of invitations from galleries around the world, but always ask myself if I have the spirit of been in galleries? With the cover of artist? I do not feel as an artist, I do not feel I have a talent; I just want people to feel good when they look at the pictures, and this is my stance. I quickly change my style and I want people to feel happy looking at these graphics designs and this decision has been taken into account. Always found it interesting that a person can look at my work while cutting the meat, rather than if I was in art galleries where my work would not be so visible, because we can maximize images in numerous different products, also as a way to earn money doing what you love. But the most important is that people have access to what I do, anywhere, at any point. And increasingly, the world seems to me like that feeling, because independent artists and designers are having a huge influence on our world. This was the nicest reason to publicize my work to people.

Do not you think that's a trivialization?
DI: Everybody asks me that, indeed, I do not think so. When I work with websites that sell to the public who are interested in design and who like to feel special, I think it is not an oversimplification. My pictures , for example , are applied in pads , I think that is totally different from IKEA and buy a another an independent artist, in terms of feeling that awakens . Sometimes , big brands come to realize that kind of phenomenon and when they create specific collections , they also feel the need to pass this particular idea to be buying a product designed by a designer , I do not think it trivialization . There are so many artists and so good with immense quality that this is a beautiful ocean to see and I do not see it with a sense of banality. I talked with several design agencies and most of them tell me that the materials are not noble; you're making art without the nobility of the artist. But I want to give this access to my images because I find it interesting, giving five dollars for an illustration I think is very important to allow people to have that choice.

What is your next step as a designer?
DI: It's a very difficult question. But I guess I'm an emerging artist, every day I'm learning and the next work is so difficult because I intend to keep doing this.

So now you achieve your dream?
DI: I would not say is my dream, which it would be live from it. It is my greatest desire. I spoke of happiness, because I think we should do what we liked to be able to live, I think the world improves when this happens it is my opinion that can be relative.
