It is a short film written and directed by Fabio Freitas discusses the idea of change within a small family. A film that had as protagonists Martha Andrino and Francisco Arraiol who spoke about the challenges of their characters.
What inspired the script for "partir"?
Fábio Freitas : "Partir" born of the need to gain strength in a less good moment of my life basically was where I found encouragement. Partir it is exactly that, it is to cause movement, which I did.
I noticed that the scenery is sparse, there are few objects , could not never figure out who these people are , even in terms of clothing , it was purposeful or not ?
FF : It was clearly deliberate , moreover , I do not like to illustrate things a lot , and the less stress the better for me . In the clothing level I used very similar colors , there is every need in terms of photography there is a cohesion plenty of browns and tones need to be very connected to nature mostly. It is very down to earth , they are far away from the city life, of an urban moment .
The color white emphasizes a certain innocence of the 3 brothers .
FF : Yes , without a doubt.
Pure even as more intimate .
FF : Yes , that was it was all thought in that aspect , because essentially the characters learned to live in a very particular way , which comes from a very isolated rural society and that there is much ingenuity and hence this purity and white is the best answer and symbology.
What were the greatest difficulties you found in the production ?
FF : It was the fact of wanting to control everything and be aware of it , I have to delegate and trust people . I learned this and I will continue to learn.
You chose biblical names , are very strong in historical terms , it's all connected to the theme you chose ?
FF : Clearly the names were not random , maybe even felt a need to put more purity and ingenuity in the characters. It is a return to the past , there is even some mysticism surrounding these names , are very strong and common sense immediately associates them to the bible . It's hard to explain are my personal things, values that I acquired throughout life and has to do with a family matter.
This experience what you're going to take your next project ?
FF : I'll take some more experience I have gained . I realize that was a learning experience , dealing with unexpected situations when we are recording for more things are controlled, thoughtful and organized, learned from it and moved on .
To each of you what was the greatest challenge of their character?
Marta Andrino : In this situation , this Maria helped clean all the town addictions of the daily life of Martha. This character gestures are all very genuine and good , she does not live anything dependent on material goods. I cleared all these external factors, and let her be more neutral , simple through the eyes could see if she's happy or sad .
Francisco Arraiol : For me the more technical point of view had more difficulty in changing the language in a way of interpretation point of view from television to cinema. I had almost no experience in this area and then had to do what I know , which is to be an actor , but with a language I do not know . In terms of character , this Abel , while it was serene, was strong , while it was calm, screaming in silence. When Fabio handed the characteristics of the characters , he assigned to each an element, the earth was Abel . My main difficulty was to make this earth in physical Abel .
What was your element ?
MA : It was the water.
Both work on television , but also do theater and film projects without economic counterparts , you do it because they are aspects that help you to develop your art ?
MA : I am working since 18 years old and started doing television, but have done a lot of theater in my childhood , since that study. That makes me constantly being in the theater , putting together shows, do performances, installations and suddenly I am asked to do small movies and all this for me as the actress means that I'm growing almost for eight years, so I decided to make this my life. And it makes all sense to complementary, to be able to say that I am a formed Martha, which is the fruit of all this . Television gives us more visibility , but not all, I speak for myself, this movie is one of them and other less visible projects that make sense to support .
FA : I started in the theater and I always acted . Started on TV recently. I believe I can grow a lot as an actor in theater and do the other two , television and film, and vice versa . Try various things not only gives us his experience, but it supplements our capabilities.
