What I suggest is to enjoy the film without preconceptions , however there are two details that left me a little disappointed, first the monsters that never appear , not even once , and I was counting on that, wanted to at least get one of those monumental scares I came out of the movie theater empty handed . They promise a lot on the posters and then nothing. It isn't fair. The second , the happy ending is abrupt and unexpected , was not expecting that everyone survived that way ... and I say no more . Go see ! Have a nice movie night.

Danny Ivan considers himself a young independent artist. His greatest desire is to make people happy when they look at his work, even through the most banal everyday objects. The joy that he dedicates to his art is reflected in the strong and vivid printing of his graphics designs and there is no escaping this multicolor world full of charm and details. Come and meet him.
Why was essential for you to create a style as a graphic designer?
Danny Ivan: I think when we want to create a style is to try to differentiate our work from others because there are fantastic artists around the world, if we are not informed about their works; we largely feel that we are doing the same. Therefore, it is very important to create our space, the way we express what we have inside.
How the idea of working with many details does come to you?
DI: I think it's very important to get into detail on any work, may have a very simplistic air, but if we are to detail people identify and recognize that there is a concept that there is work there. It's a nice way to create a relationship with the general public. And, I think the details make the difference in life, from our smallest acts, the way we relate, try to apply this idea in the illustration, or photograph itself. I think from my point of view is essential.
How your mental process is arises in creative terms? In your work clearly two strands, extraneous graphics and then the picture that turns into a detailed image.
DI: I often say that I have no process. Simply have a fairly accurate sense of observation, always observe everything , gestures , people , dominant colors , the whole environment of museums , galleries , I read a lot , see many movies and hear great music . And suddenly it makes a click in my head, I cannot explain how and then I start to sketch all the time. What is really hard is waiting seated for the creativity to flow. I think probably my process is always been in a process, perchance; this is the best expression that defines me as an artist.

An initiative to restore native forest throughout the national territory in a single day .
The National Forest Authority( AFN ) , the Institute for Nature Conservation ( ICBN ) , the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities ( ANMP ) and Quercus ( National Association for Nature Conservation ) have partnered to establish an incentive program of reforestation of 74 Portuguese municipalities today, on 23rd of November. The aim is afforested Portugal with 91,000 native trees such as : Holmoak , cherry tree, Portuguese oak, arbutus, olaster , cork oak , alder , ash tree, white Willow and black poplar all over the country. Volunteers who wish to participate may also collect acorns and sow them (in milk cartons or plastic bottles ) and make a plant nursery ( for the year will be ready to be planted .) Or, organize a walking holiday for recognition and identification of native trees and gardens of the nearby courses . For the initiative to have the desired effect each county provides in its website " the ability to publish local news, announcements or invitations , a simple description or opinion piece , can still provide volunteer registration form and list your support places and partnerships".

It's a walk through one of the water pathways on the island, brought the levada dos tornos, in Gaula .
It was the revival of my labyrinth of memories that led me to Gaula. To the origins of my family, who are mingle with the history of the ancestors of all the inhabitants of the island , through a path that is a reflection of the indomitable and resilient spirit of the islanders who always had to tame nature by pulse. The levada dos tornos is a pleasant journey not advised to the feeble of heart , or those with vertigo , but whose beauty cannot be judged by it stain of green laurel , but , more so, by the remains of the constant struggle between man and nature . It is a journey through a lost time, where in every curve we found terraces , stone walls that witnessed the hardships of a tough existence , full of obstacles and challenges almost superhuman who are now shrouded in silence and abandonment .

Cowork Fx refers to sharing a workspace between freelancers, self-employed and micro and small enterprises. A concept that provides a workplace, an exchange of ideas and a community for professionals who typically work alone. An innovative idea transported to Madeira by the young entrepreneur André Loja.
What led you to introduce the system cowork in Funchal?
André Loja: The idea is not unique, since there are other places around the country and the world.
But what led you in particular to bring the concept to Madeira?
AL : It was very simple , I work on audiovisual I'm director who has nothing to do with this facet of business , or an entrepreneur , but in one of those normal searches on the internet I came across the concept that I thought was great. And the idea stuck in my head. A few months later went to Lisbon, by chance, and I visited a place called cowork Lisbon at Lx Factory, and I was in love. I liked the dynamic of groups, the startups, people working together and the concept of open space. I spoke with Fernando Mendes and Ana Dias who are responsible and that day I decided I would bring cowork to Funchal. It's been more than two years; do not know the day, because I did not mark on the calendar.
How you went from idea to action? The choice of the building and the location?
AL: I started investigating possible locations for deploying cowork Funchal and tried to research what types of spaces were needed in physical and financial terms. I started to think more about the project, because until then I just liked the idea. And the big problem was to find a central space. The difficulty resided in the building finding that I intended with the desired areas and at a reasonable price. Hence it took so long to find him, when the space was already set, it was a little further away, at the end of Rua da Carreira, I had already signed the contract and everything, then the former owners of this space that was previously a clinic contacted me, they liked the project and invited me to see the building and I was immediately in love. They are my partners today and we opened this project together, though I manage it.
What are the biggest challenges you face, having overtaken the space issue?
AL: Well, some bureaucracies those are always complicated in terms of works. Issues that are typically Portuguese and do not help much. Nowadays the biggest difficulty lies in explaining a concept where almost no one in this town can understand it.

It is a touching story written by David Soares.
It is an unusual book for several reasons. The first of which is the choice of the protagonist that it is a rat, which is different from all the mice in the kingdom. Then it is a novel where the characters, who are almost all animals, debate on the issues of life and death, love and hate and fear and courage. David Soares has a delightful writing, full of words that must be said in loud and clear, because they have a beautiful sound that makes them almost magical, e.g. assarapantado, desvairamento, patranhar, mentireiro, flagício, fedegoso fedúncio and more I could describe, but I prefer you taste them during the rest of your reading and more you can discover its hidden meanings. The names that the writer chose for their characters are even more unique ... verrículo, verruco, calcaterra, jigajoga, fraca- chicha and these are just a few gems that also cannot avoid to share and I also decided not to translate it to English because they lose their marvelous sonority, so try to read them in Portuguese for the laugh of it. It is a deep dark history, which still has the ability to be surprising by the fact that a rat decides to start a journey that will take him to a monastery, where he will meet a blind master, who stubbornly overnight without food or drink for three nights under a dome to prove that it does not fall and the chance encounter between these two creatures of God will arise an unexpected epilogue. "Battle " is above all a manual about tolerance and friendship. I highly recommend it . Good reading.

The designer Anabela Marques created from recycled materials fashion accessories that depend on a technique she invented with Pet plastic and outdated magazine images. The Idict due to its innovation is present in several museum shops and cultural venues in and out of Portugal.
How did appear Idict?
Anabela Marques: Began two and a half years ago, I started with small pins for my friends. The loved them and were always surprised positively. Ended up asking me why not commercialized the pieces until an opportunity arose to do it in Barcelona. I had a short sale in a craft fair city that went very well and from there put for sale on the pins in two outlets . I was in town doing a postgraduate in superior design, returned to Portugal and decided at the suggestion of other friends to expand the collection. Then I started to make bracelets, necklaces, but wanted to continue with reusable materials that were the purpose of the project, performing pieces from recycled materials. Earlier, I used bottle caps, old buttons, magazine paper, finally things found on the street. Then I started with Pet plastic, heating it and worked it in various ways and thought that it would be interesting and would have little leeway only with the transparent plastic, so I decided it combines with the images of the magazines that had at home that were on the shelf, with no purpose and gave them a use, although for some it is a crime to cut them, for me I think it was a utility that I gave to the old magazines.
What are the challenges you face regarding the materials you use?
AM: Right now only use the Pet plastic that then fill with images of magazine and a covering underneath. The biggest challenge was to find the way to make it sturdy, durable, and the end of time do not get damaged. It was and still remains, because the project has little time. Still be a challenge to find out what are the ways to make it enduring, because I have no model to follow, it is an original technique, the os material used in a way that is not usually used. I do tests in the piece, but always counting on the feedback from customers, repairs are free, but so far never had any problems.
The pieces you already have created which ones stand out?
AM: The pieces that stand out most are the largest and most showy necklaces.
Who are the women who wear your pieces? Can you do an analysis of your type of customer?
AM: From the works of art can please cosmopolitan women cosmopolitan sort of speak, with a certain aesthetic taste. However, the art is very diverse, if we think of ancient art or Portuguese tiles in this way also can please a more conservative public. Turning to contemporary art, customers are more daring, is so vast is the range that I can please women, modesty aside. It is because of the versatility of the pieces themselves, I am now preparing a collection for the "festival in" and continue to emerge huge models of necklaces because I draw the base from an image. Even more when I'm free, when I have no orders and the exhibition is not very targeted, it leaves room for greater creativity. It is very difficult to create a collection, because the image is randomly chosen and therefore cannot create six models of identical necklaces for example. Rui Carvalho is an accomplished guitarist who traded in a way the rock by the sweetness of the classical guitar. A sound that builds intuitively and empties into rhythms that describe a journey, more frantic, more intense, more calm, or safer, but somehow always unpredictable.

Rui Carvalho : This is just the first reason , things that have nothing to do please me , I honestly like the name is passing an idea of duality , most people have the idea that it is a bad thing , but there is another reading of the word , even if we go to Brazil , where there are thousands of pages of facebook , I came to discover later , of mothers sons who is basically a webpage made by mothers with images of their children, babies is something dear . I think that in Portugal there's always a kind of bastard who is a friend, that is not offensive and I like that in the background that is aggressive, but has nothing to do with it. Who came up the name was Claudia, my wife, gave me the idea and I appropriated it.
In terms of composition of themes, there are several types of sounds when composing you think only in terms of these sounds, or just think about the guitar?
RC: I play classical guitar, played Portuguese guitar, and then moved to electric and imported things from classical guitar, to Portuguese and to the electric guitar. Now, when I decided to return the origins, I wanted to go solo, took everything along I had learned before. From the point of view of sound I let things flow, do not think much of it and I have absolutely no fear. What I thought for second album is: I've been here and now I want to try to do something different.
Speaking of Palace, the first album, why the choice of classical guitar?
RC: I do not know, I have no idea. It is a poor choice in many ways .
Why?
RC : Why is a guitar that sounds very difficult , for those who like rock and they are used to a certain kind of frequency it is not there , it's something you have to play with some sweetness and a lot of technical things that I have not. I took classical guitar because it was familiar. That was how it all started . I like the idea of playing rock in a more paced , more nervous way, usually playing what something that seen as a very controlled instrument.

It is a film about Lucian Prodan, a young Moldovian who discovers the sea, friendship and surf in Portugal. A positive story about learning and the inner growing of a foreign boy in Portuguese lands. A documentary by Maria Eça, Miguel Bretiano and Vasco Crespo, who has won awards and honors at the national and international level .
How did the idea of the film begin on Lucian?
Maria Eça: We already had in mind to make a film in the documentary field, because the three of us work in television. At the same time we were talking about it, we decided that we didn't need a big project, would be the first, and then came the story of Lucian. Miguel is a regular beach goer of St. Peter and knew João who was the instructor of the local surf school. Told him the story of a kid who walked around the beach and wanted to surf, who did not speak Portuguese very well, and that the beach was adopting him and help him surfing. Struck our fancy a kid like that, who apparently had a funny personality that pulled people and they began to build the history. Before we met his mother and ask her permission to make the film and to film him, because he is a minor and we were just cling to her, because in the film you can also realizes that the lady is very outgoing and friendly. We started to realize beyond this little story, there was another that was even greater the integration of Lucian in the Portuguese community, through the surf. He learns to speak Portuguese, swim and surf in just three months.
I know you struggled with the lack of financial means. Still had some help to make this documentary. But what were the challenges you faced during the shooting?
Miguel Bretiano: In addition to the shortage of funds, the other challenge is trying to coordinate us, we have our daily work and we had to combine our schedules to work on this project. It was a film that required four months of recording, the rest was not too hard, the way we were received in "Surf in Portugal " as in the family of Lucian was all so spontaneous on their part , which made our job much easy. Maybe it's one of the secrets of this film, the spontaneity, the pleasure of doing it and how we were welcomed by everyone.
Vasco Crespo: It's running away from our working environment, the information environment that we do, out of this mental print of almost daily news situation for a documentary. The biggest challenge was personal in the sense that we were going to tell a story in a more documentary way and that was our biggest difficulty, detach of this logic of Television thinking and move to something more cinematic.
ME: For example, this film has no narration, it tells himself.

It is an exhibition that shows the unique vision personal and not transferable from various artists about the disaster that rocked the island and the individual impact of those events on their art. A collective exhibition, curated by José Zyberchema , which will be open to the public until 17th of November, in the room of arches, at administration building of the University of Madeira .
How to interpret the word disaster for this exhibition in relation to your work?
Marcos Milewski: What I did was a sewer hole, is a representation of a kind of fountain of desires in reality is a joke, because during the flood, sewage broke, could not take the water coming from the mountain. So I thought the best way to represent this was a source of desires so that everything can improve. I created a source of sewage with a character, using an experimental technique that transmits a slightly image.
The three-dimensionality is another technique that you exploit a lot lately.
MM: Yes, I'm interest me a lot. Those sensations that arouse from spaces and illusions.
Why a child? It is a symbol?
